WHAT ARE CASTOR OIL TREATMENTS HELPFUL FOR?

Castor oil is derived from the seeds of the Castor plant (Ricinus communis), also known as Palma Christi, and is traditionally used to stimulate the Lymphatic & Circulatory Systems.

The lymphatic system provides each cell in the body a means to get rid of waste. It relies on movement and manipulation to function, as it doesn’t have a “pump” in the same way as the circulatory system has the heart. Castor oil packs have traditionally been used as a way to help stimulate movement of lymph, thereby helping to support the body's own natural healing pathways.

The added warmth that is also traditionally applied to castor oil packs is believed to help support the flow of fresh oxygenated, nutrient rich blood, supporting optimal function and healing, and helping to reduce congestion.

Using only Organic Castor Oil Liquid (cold-pressed and hexane-free) and organic, undyed and unbleached cotton fabrics ensures high standard, toxin-free ingredients for your treatment pack.

The Castor Oil liquid and Balm are packaged in amber glass containers to ensure no toxins are leached in to the oil from plastics.

The Organic Castor Oil Balm, made with 87% organic cold-pressed castor oil, 12% natural Beeswax and 1% natural Vitamin E, provides equally high standard, toxin-free ingredients in a semi-solid alternative form to the liquid oil. This can be rubbed directly on to the body part you wish to treat and the wrap applied over the top. The warmth of your hands as you massage it in, helps absorb the castor oil (or a heat pack can also be applied).

The Balm can be especially helpful when there isn't time to do a full castor oil pack with the liquid, or at any time you prefer a simple-to-apply alternative to the liquid.

IMPORTANT NOTES

Please note, it is advisable to carry out a patch test, as although rare, it is possible to have an allergic reaction to castor oil.

Castor oil can stain fabrics and clothing, therefore it is always advisable to use caution or wear old clothes when using packs, or to place an old towel over furniture or your bed.

Avoid using castor oil packs if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, or after ovulation if you are trying to conceive.

Do not use on open wounds or irritated skin such as rashes or cuts

Take care when using packs with additional heat sources over scar tissue, as there can sometimes be numbness in these areas.

Castor oil can increase blood flow so use caution if using during your period, especially if you tend to have heavier period bleeds.

Castor Oil Abdominal Wrap : Pure, unbleached organic cotton fabric wrap with GOTS certified organic cotton flannel under-layer. A 3-ply GOTS certified organic cotton flannel insert and an organic cotton towelling cloth.

Castor Oil Neck Wrap : Pure, unbleached organic cotton fabric wrap with GOTS certified organic cotton flannel under-layer, with a 4-ply GOTS certified organic cotton flannel insert.

Castor Oil liquid : 250ml : Ricinus communis (cold-pressed, hexane-free castor) seed oil* * organic

Castor oil balm : 120ml : Ricinus communis (cold-pressed, hexane-free castor) seed oil*, Cera alba (beeswax), Triticum Vulgare Germ Oil (natural Vitamin E from wheatgerm oil)* * organic

Scented balms include Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Oil with naturally occurring Linalool or Boswellia Serrata (Frankincense) Oil with naturally Alpha-Pinene, Limonene, 3-Carene, p-Cymene.
